  1. This is the README file for MKUSER.EXE which contains 
  2. MAKEUSER.EXE Version 3.64 which replaces MAKEUSER.EXE v3.52
  3. that ships with NNS v1.0 for NetWare v2.15C and above and 
  4. NetWare v3.x.

  12. Purpose:
  13.  
  14. 1)  MAKEUSER.EXE Version 3.64 supports NCP Packet Signature.
  15.  
  16. 2)  When creating users and assigning them to a default profile, earlier
  17. versions of MAKEUSER.EXE would give the user all rights (RWCEMF) to the
  18. default profile.  This would allow the user to modify the profile login
  19. script and the profile's server list.  The key words used in
  20. MAKEUSER.EXE are, #DEFAULT_PROFILE, and #CREATE.  The members of a
  21. profile should only have "R"ead and "F"ile scan rights to the profile. 
  22. MAKEUSER.EXE Version 3.64 fixes this problem.

  24. To install this utility:     
  25.  
  26. 1)    Flag MAKEUSER.EXE AND MAKEUSER.HLP as SRW (Sharable Read Write)
  27.       in the PUBLIC directory.
  28.  
  29. 2)    Rename MAKEUSER.EXE to MAKEUSER.OLD and MAKEUSER.HLP to 
  30.       MAKEUSER.OLP in the PUBLIC directory for backup purposes.
  31.     
  32. 3)    Copy MAKEUSER.EXE and MAKEUSER.HLP to the PUBLIC directory.

  34. 4)    Flag the new copies of MAKEUSER.EXE AND MAKEUSER.HLP back
  35.       to SRO (Sharable Read-Only).
